I am Delphine Gibassier, 43 years old, a single mum of 3. Polyglot, curious and multitasking, I wanted to give a new meaning to the expertise I have acquired these last years by transmitting it to others. This is why I created “Vert de Gris”, and the 12-month “Fluent in Accounting for Sustainability” training and coaching.

For the past 20 years, I have been working in corporate finance, a field in which I integrated sustainable development 13 years ago, by completing a thesis in “environmental management control” at HEC Paris.

Now recognized as an international expert on the subject, I created Vert de Gris to be able to pass on all the knowledge and practice I have accumulated over the past 13 years.

I am a researcher and former professor in business schools. I still direct today the research center “Global Multi-Capital Performance”, hosted at Audencia (Nantes).

Since 2018, I have put my academic expertise at the service of standardization and the construction of reporting and accounting standards for sustainable development. For this, I participated in EFRAG’s Project Taskforce 1 and 2, led by Patrick de Cambourg, between September 2020 and April 2022. We wrote recommendations for the construction of the standards, and then drafted the “draft standards” submitted for consultation between April and August 2022. I also participated as an expert in the work of reworking the Communication on Progress of the United Nations Global Compact.

Today, I am a member of three boards of directors of international organizations: the Capitals Coalition, R3.0 and Align. All three are working to implement sustainability accounting around the world.

I also participate in technical expertise groups, including ISSB (formerly CDSB), B Lab Global, Impak, Transparent, the French SRI label.

In the past, I have participated in projects with the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, the IIRC (now part of the IFRS Foundation), the ADEME (French Agency for Ecological Transition), the French Accounting Standards Authority and Eklipse.

Today, I am co-directing three academic theses on the theme of multi-capital and positive impact accounting in my research center. I also develop action research project on the “LIFTS Accounting Model” method, and I am associate editor of the Sustainability Accounting, Management and Policy Journal.

Before starting my academic career, I worked for multinational companies as a controller and ERP system manager in Europe, North America and Asia.

Long before I started my academic studies, I developed a musical fiber, and I completed a full course in piano, and discovered various instruments, including the clarinet, the violin and guzheng. Today, I still play the celtic harp daily. I also draw and paint, a passion I share with my son and my father.

Passionate about languages and travel, I was lucky enough to live abroad for 8 years (Great Britain, Germany, Canada, USA, Japan and China), and to learn three foreign languages aside from French, which is my mother tongue.
